Why i chose SSOC
What drew me to SSOC was the structure behind it. A lot of programs for kids are well-meaning but loosely put together; SSOC actually has a methodology, a progression, and a real framework for how kids develop socially. As someone who studied child and youth care, that mattered to me. I wanted to work somewhere where the approach was intentional, and where I could see the impact of what I was doing session to session.
My Day to Day
Outside of work, I'm a big homebody at heart. I love cooking, nothing fancy, just trying new recipes and seeing what sticks, and I spend a lot of time on creative projects like painting and journaling. I'm really into live music and try to catch local shows whenever I can. On weekends you'll usually find me at a record store, a bookshop, or hosting a movie night for friends.
"At the end of the day, I just really love what I do.”
"She's the reason my son looks forward to Mondays."
“Susan has a natural ability to connect with kids in a way that feels effortless. From the very first session, my son came home talking about her, what they worked on, what made him laugh, something she said that stuck with him. That kind of impression is hard to make, especially with a kid who doesn't warm up to people easily.
By the middle of the semester we were already seeing real changes. He was more talkative at dinner, more willing to put himself out there at school. Susan clearly understood exactly where he was at and knew how to meet him there. We couldn't recommend her more highly."
