STARS Program
Carefully designed to meet each student where they are, STARS helps kids and teens build practical social skills and confidence through a structured eight-level progression. Each level focuses on specific social competencies and is developed through 12 personalized one-to-one sessions with a Sociability Coach.
Participants engage in role-play, guided discussions, and practical exercises that strengthen their abilities in real-world social situations. Through role-play, guided discussion and practical exercises, students develop skills they can use in real-world social situations. The goal is to help each student navigate those situations with greater confidence, build meaningful relationships and apply their skills more independently in everyday life.
Our flexible semester structure is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. Families receive progress information throughout the semester, including two dedicated Review Sessions to discuss growth, goals and next steps.
STARS LEVELS OVERVIEW
STARS is organized around a progressive learning pathway. Students do not need to begin or end at the same point. Each 12-session semester focuses on the skills and goals most relevant to the individual student, with progress reviewed throughout the program.
Level 1
Participants learn foundational social skills such as greeting others, using polite language, and reading basic social cues. These early steps build confidence and comfort in everyday interactions.
Level 2
Building on Level 1, participants practice starting, maintaining, and ending conversations. They develop active listening skills, ask thoughtful questions, and begin building real connections with peers.
Level 3
Participants strengthen teamwork and collaboration by sharing ideas, navigating differing opinions, and resolving minor conflicts. They also learn to give genuine compliments and build positive peer interactions.
Level 4
Through role-play and real-world scenarios, participants strengthen cooperation by practicing how to contribute to shared goals and adapt to different roles within a group. They learn to navigate group conflict fairly and communicate clearly under pressure.
Level 5
Participants strengthen their confidence in group situations, practise contributing positively and learn how to support others while remaining aware of their own communication style.
Level 6
Participants develop more advanced communication skills, including navigating different perspectives, giving constructive feedback and adapting to changing group dynamics.
Level 7
Participants focus on maintaining friendships, navigating more complex social challenges and resolving disagreements with greater confidence and independence.
Level 8
Participants bring their skills together to navigate a wide range of social situations with greater awareness, flexibility, confidence and independence.
