Why i chose ssoc
"I studied people. SSOC is where I get to help them."
"I studied communication and social psychology at university and spent most of my degree fascinated by why people connect the way they do, what makes some interactions feel natural and others feel forced, and how much of that is actually learned behaviour. When I came across SSOC, it felt like the most direct application of everything I had been studying. This is exactly the kind of work I set out to do and I haven't looked back since."
My Day to Day
"Outside of work, I am a big homebody who occasionally has bursts of being very social and active, which honestly makes me pretty good at understanding both ends of the spectrum. I spend a lot of time watching documentaries and going deep on whatever topic I happen to be obsessed with that month. I am also really into cooking elaborate meals that take way longer than they should, and I have a running list of every restaurant in Vancouver I want to try. On weekends you will usually find me playing basketball, at a comedy show, a trivia night, or convincing my friends to try something new."
"Fred has a way of explaining things that just clicks for kids. My son came home after his first session and said 'I finally get why making friends feels hard sometimes,' and I thought, if that's what he's taking away after one session, we're in the right place. Fred is patient, perceptive, and clearly knows his stuff. We've seen real growth and we're only halfway through the semester."
